Tramon Williams Is Back!

August 6, 2012

Good news, Green Bay Packers fans. Cornerback Tramon Williams looks like he’s recovered from the shoulder injury that limited him last season and is back in top form.

Williams has been solid so far in training camp and his ability to play without pain could go a long way toward improving a pass defense that finished dead last in the NFL last season.

Williams was a Pro Bowler after a stellar 2010 campaign, but was nowhere near as good last season after suffering nerve damage in his right shoulder in week one. The injury limited his range of motion and hindered his ability to jam receivers effectively.

It showed in his play.

Now Williams says he’s doing everything he wants.

“It’s actually really doing fine,” Williams said. “I’m doing exactly what I want to do out there. Jamming. No pain. No anything. Just ready to play. … I had never been injured in any way in my career. But it’s an obstacle that stood in front of me last year and I knew I needed to get through it. I was able to go out there and go to battle with my teammates and I think they respect me for it today.

“But for this last year, it was what it was. Obviously it wasn’t 100 percent. I’ve worked hard this offseason to get back as far as I can to that. I’m ready to go. Hopefully it turns out well.”

Although we haven’t seen Williams in game action yet, it wouldn’t be a reach to say he’s facing better receivers in practice than he’s going to face in any game this year. via: totalpackers.com
